Hello, my name is Jose Retana. Earlier I researched watchthetitles.com. I researched this site in order to get a feel of what is expected of me when I make my own opening sequence. I looked at the different aspects and asked myself why that was added. This helped me in my purpose of looking for a standard to meet. What also helped was seeking different conventions used throughout opening sequences. This helped me to visualize what I need. This site as well gave me a large range of films to choose from. Another reason I researched the site is that this it gives insight/behind the scene of the people who made the opening sequence. This helped further my analysis in breaking down these opening sequences. Researching this site has given me good references. In this site, I found the psychological thriller "Se7en," and analyzed its entire opening sequence. Here are some questions I answered through my analysis: What titles are displayed during the opening sequence? - While a...
OFFICE, 12:34 A.M, 1995 (RYAN MITCHELL) Hello, who is this? (UNKNOWN CALLER) Hello, I’m a detective for RMM and I have been assigned to investigate the case regarding your late father’s 1994 murder. (RYAN MITCHELL) Why are you calling me though, Detective? (DETECTIVE) I need information on your part, it’s essential in solving this case. (RYAN MITCHELL) Ask me all the questions you need, but make it quick. (DETECTIVE) Of course. So last I recall your father was quite the investigator. Uncovered Salica’s underground criminal network, exposed them to the public, but was presumably hunted down and killed by one of its remaining leaders. Let’s begin by your father’s work, do know anything of what he did behind the scenes? (RYAN MITCHELL) I do, Detective. I’ve actually continued his work in his honor after his tragic passing. He found a drug trade network near the West Valley City area. He got involved with them shortly after as an undercover. A...
Hello bloggers, my name is Jose Retana. Today we officially begin filming after the mess that was the mock filming. For a quick recap here are the things I learned and changed because of mock filming. 1. I am now recording in the day. 2. Lines have been memorized. 3. Set up the room to match the setting. If you'd like to see the process of why I am recording during the day, check out the last blog, it's really interesting and worth a read. This day is split into two, I will record the first scene in the morning, and the second scene in the afternoon. I know this contradicts my schedule plan, but I waited all week to record and I only have two days to film. My next blog will be scene three and the beginning of editing. Firstly, I'd have to say that scene 1 was the harder one to film. I had to find a sound effect for the phone ringing and the initial awkwardness was very present. It was something I overcame, but it was an obstacle nonetheless. Everything else, the lines,...
