My Intro

 Hello my name is Jose R, I am 15 years old. I am a sophomore in high school. My birthday is next month, I hope it will be one to remember. One thing I love to do is play basketball, which I am still mediocre at. I also enjoy the watching aspect of the sport, I love watching leagues like the NBA. My favorite team has to be the Milwaukee Bucks, mostly because of Giannis though. Cool guy, but my favorite player of all time is by far Kobe Bryant. His mentality is one to be remembered and is one of the reasons I play basketball so much. There’s also Dennis Rodman, also one of my favorite players of the game. His rebound ability is a symbol of determination to your craft. I really respect the sport of basketball and I love to watch it. Another hobby of mine is watching movies. Recently, I went on an entire binge watching spree of good movies and TV shows. My favorite of all of these was a show called Mr. Robot. It’s about an antisocial hacker called Elliot that tries to find his place in society, but the show goes so much more in depth than that. I would highly, highly, highly recommend anybody to watch it, it is the only show that has got close to making me cry. I also loved the movie “Joker.” I loved it immensely, the in-depth messages, the tragic aspects, and the cinematography made it excellent. Especially the cinematography, the brilliant use of background too, made this film my favorite of all time. The best ending I have ever seen however, is not from any of these two shows/films, it’s actually from another show called Breaking Bad. Everybody and their mom needs to watch this show because it has the greatest ending in TV history, in my opinion. I won’t spoil because it’s at least deserving of being experienced by every human on earth, but the ending left me speechless. That’s basically everything about me. Below will be an image from Mr. Robot’s ending that shows everything its four seasons led up to, there is so much depth behind it that I can’t leave it out. That’s it, see you again reader.

Movie Research: Inception

 Hello, my name is Jose Retana. What conventions of this genre did I see in this movie? This movie has a lot of medium camera conventions like medium shots and medium close ups, helping us see the background while also keeping in touch with the characters emotions. I as well took note of the mix between diegetic and non-diegetic sound, mostly notably in the intro of the movie. Also, the use of sound bridges add layers and smooth transitions. Probably the highlight convention throughout the entirety of this film is cross-cutting, used in the intro and the final scene. Sets and lighting play a major part in this film, which is common for psychological thrillers.  What conventions did I like? I especially liked the use of sets and lighting in this movie, which is common is psychological thrillers. It created a sense of tone and vibe to it. The cross-cutting I liked as well. Production Blog- Testing Around with CapCut

My name is Jose Retana, and I will be talking about editing my commercial today. As of this moment, I have not started but I have my video and pictures ready. The editing platform I will be using to edit my commercial will be CapCut. The reason I did not choose any other editing application was because most cost money (such as Ae), or they are too complicated (such as AlightMotion). Additionally, CapCut provides mobile support for editing on the go, which I find convenient. My teacher also recommended CapCut for the editing of this commercial, so it's probably best that I listen. My problem with using CapCut, though, is that I have minimal experience. So, I will be asking my sibling for some help because he is actually decently experienced at using the editing platform.
