Research and Planning- Pictures found

So, for my pictures, I chose to include all real pictures of myself. I decided on three to add to my project. The selection of the photos was nothing special, I just looked back on my camera roll. I don't often take pictures of myself, but I was still able to select three that I think will fit best in my commercial. I can't attach them with this blog, or the video as well because I don't know how to. I can do so with the song because it isn't part of my camera roll, but I will discuss it a little later.

So, for my video, I actually did not have a video of myself, so I had to go and record myself doing something. I ended up choosing to just run in silence throughout the video because I love running and I didn't know what else to put in. Again, I can't attach the video file because I can't do so. 

For my song choice, I chose one song only and that song is "Jump" by JPRO. I have a good reason for my song choice. One, I love the lyrics. Everything about the lyrics is positive, whenever I listen to them, I sometimes get motivated because every line is about improving. Lines like "Accomplishing my tasks, I rinse it and repeat," are also relatable and fit in my commercial. Another reason I chose the song was because of the beat. I mean it when I say it's catchy and upbeat which I find fitting because that is the vibe I want to give off when I finish this commercial. The final reason I chose it was that it's very different from mainstream songs. Many people may try to put songs that bring you down or are just hateful in their commercials, However, I didn't want to do that, so I chose Jump, plus the creator of the song is a positive influence. I would recommend listening to the song and taking a look at the lyrics. Below is a link and the cover of the song.

Movie Research: Inception

 Hello, my name is Jose Retana. What conventions of this genre did I see in this movie? This movie has a lot of medium camera conventions like medium shots and medium close ups, helping us see the background while also keeping in touch with the characters emotions. I as well took note of the mix between diegetic and non-diegetic sound, mostly notably in the intro of the movie. Also, the use of sound bridges add layers and smooth transitions. Probably the highlight convention throughout the entirety of this film is cross-cutting, used in the intro and the final scene. Sets and lighting play a major part in this film, which is common for psychological thrillers.  What conventions did I like? Production Blog- Testing Around with CapCut

My name is Jose Retana, and I will be talking about editing my commercial today. As of this moment, I have not started but I have my video and pictures ready. The editing platform I will be using to edit my commercial will be CapCut. The reason I did not choose any other editing application was because most cost money (such as Ae), or they are too complicated (such as AlightMotion). Additionally, CapCut provides mobile support for editing on the go, which I find convenient. My teacher also recommended CapCut for the editing of this commercial, so it's probably best that I listen. My problem with using CapCut, though, is that I have minimal experience. So, I will be asking my sibling for some help because he is actually decently experienced at using the editing platform.
