Introduction to the Music Video: Hello again

 Hello, my name is Jose Retana. In my last project, I learned a lot. Now I'm doing another project, but this time a music video. So, we're dealing with a little twist. I won't be discussing any details of the project in this blog post, but I will be the next blog. The only thing I really did so far was brainstorm a location and find a schedule, oh, and find a song which I've now done all of. Anyway, let me use this blog to introduce myself again. 

As I said, my name is Jose, but I also love basketball. Now I'm not really good at it, but I do enjoy watching it. If you remember, which you likely don't, I love the Milwaukee Bucks. A lot has changed in the Bucks since the last time I talked about them. They've gotten so much scarier as a franchise since the day I talked about them. That's right, they've acquired Damian Lillard from the Trailblazers and I love every minute of it. If you don't know who that is, don't worry about it. 

Something else I love besides basketball is learning. Something I learned just the other day was how to edit on Capcut. It's actually served me well up to this day. I love to learn things like this, and something else I learned was how to examine an artwork. I actually take online courses for credit and one class I take is Art History. I learned how to examine artwork and their history, it's really cool. I learned about the structure, the symbolism, the naturalism, and a lot more. I just love to take these classes in general because I learn so much from them. 

I'm also really good at math. It's the only subject where if you teach me it, I'll learn the whole concept in its entirety in less than a day. It's really cool, and I respect math, but I hate science in general. I've literally never been good at it. No matter if it's 6th-grade math or AP Chem, it's torturous for me.

Movie Research: Inception

 Hello, my name is Jose Retana. What conventions of this genre did I see in this movie? This movie has a lot of medium camera conventions like medium shots and medium close ups, helping us see the background while also keeping in touch with the characters emotions. I as well took note of the mix between diegetic and non-diegetic sound, mostly notably in the intro of the movie. Also, the use of sound bridges add layers and smooth transitions. Probably the highlight convention throughout the entirety of this film is cross-cutting, used in the intro and the final scene. Sets and lighting play a major part in this film, which is common for psychological thrillers.  What conventions did I like? I especially liked the use of sets and lighting in this movie, which is common is psychological thrillers. It created a sense of tone and vibe to it. The cross-cutting I liked as well. Production Blog- Testing Around with CapCut

My name is Jose Retana, and I will be talking about editing my commercial today. As of this moment, I have not started but I have my video and pictures ready. The editing platform I will be using to edit my commercial will be CapCut. The reason I did not choose any other editing application was because most cost money (such as Ae), or they are too complicated (such as AlightMotion). Additionally, CapCut provides mobile support for editing on the go, which I find convenient. My teacher also recommended CapCut for the editing of this commercial, so it's probably best that I listen. My problem with using CapCut, though, is that I have minimal experience. So, I will be asking my sibling for some help because he is actually decently experienced at using the editing platform.
