 Hello bloggers my name is Jose Retana, let’s plan scheduling the project! Everything here is subject to change, this is just an outline. 

Filming

2/12/2024- Filming begins, I am dividing the scene into 3 portions. So scene 1, 2, and 3. Scene 1 will be filmed first which is the part that ends with the detective asking his second question. 

2/13/2024- Middle part of the scene aka scene 2 is filmed which is where scene 1 leaves off and now up until the point where the detective reveals that he knows. There is a lot of dialogue which is why this small portion will take a day of filming. 

2/14/2024- Filming ends with the rest of the script playing out in scene 3. 

2/17/2024-3/01/2024- Editing will begin and will try to piece together my scenes to make it fitting to my genre. I’ll then get it ready to be uploaded. 

Location


I will be filming directly in my own house and my own room similar to this image. I’ll simply add a candle on a table in a dark room to create an unsettling feel.

For my safety, I will be using a fake candle so that I don’t get burned and there will be a backup fire extinguisher if something serious were to happen. I will mostly be talking and acting, so I will take regular breaks and make sure to drink lots of water.

Movie Research: Inception

 Hello, my name is Jose Retana. What conventions of this genre did I see in this movie? This movie has a lot of medium camera conventions like medium shots and medium close ups, helping us see the background while also keeping in touch with the characters emotions. I as well took note of the mix between diegetic and non-diegetic sound, mostly notably in the intro of the movie. Also, the use of sound bridges add layers and smooth transitions. Probably the highlight convention throughout the entirety of this film is cross-cutting, used in the intro and the final scene. Sets and lighting play a major part in this film, which is common for psychological thrillers.  What conventions did I like? I especially liked the use of sets and lighting in this movie, which is common is psychological thrillers. It created a sense of tone and vibe to it. The cross-cutting I liked as well. Production Blog- Testing Around with CapCut

My name is Jose Retana, and I will be talking about editing my commercial today. As of this moment, I have not started but I have my video and pictures ready. The editing platform I will be using to edit my commercial will be CapCut. The reason I did not choose any other editing application was because most cost money (such as Ae), or they are too complicated (such as AlightMotion). Additionally, CapCut provides mobile support for editing on the go, which I find convenient. My teacher also recommended CapCut for the editing of this commercial, so it's probably best that I listen. My problem with using CapCut, though, is that I have minimal experience. So, I will be asking my sibling for some help because he is actually decently experienced at using the editing platform.
